Profile photo of Seth Glause

Seth Glause (AA General Studies, 2008), a native of Rock Springs and graduate of Farson High School, attended CWC on a rodeo scholarship and had a successful college career, twice winning the all-around championship of the National Collegiate Rodeo Association’s Central Rocky Mountain Region. Seth said his time at CWC and the credential he earned opened the doors to his future – being a rodeo coach and continuing to work in rodeo after his professional career ended in 2016. He also treasures the friendships he developed and remarked that the friendships he developed and the team culture was amazing, with a great group of rodeo student-athletes, who were focused on being successful as rodeo cowboys.

During Seth’s time at CWC, Rodeo Coaches Rick and Lynn Smith had an impact in his life and their friendship continues today. Rick’s strong reputation was part of what attracted Seth to CWC, as well as it feeling like a good fit overall. The Smith’s supported Seth throughout his college career and helped him get to the next level in rodeo, to pursue a professional career as a saddle bronc and bull rider. Seth went on to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals in bull riding in 2008, 2011, and 2012, finishing second in the average in 2012.

After leading the Laramie County Community College Rodeo team for five years, where he was named the Central Rocky Mountain coach of the year in 2021, Seth was recently hired as the head Rodeo coach at the University of Wyoming. While busy learning his new role, he is  excited to step in and become familiar with the student-athletes, and through coaching provide a positive college rodeo experience. Seth is very thankful for CWC and the opportunity that he had while attending.
